MyBreathAway (MBA) was designed to function properly in a work place where air circulation and the person specific to the device moves very little. The MyBreathAway device or tubing; when located near a person's face is designed to absorb a majority of each exhaled breath and convey it to a safer location. MyBreathAway uses a very quiet fan, the device is powered using a USB battery pack or any common USB charger. Many professions require they work in close proximity to co-workers or clients, MBA is designed to reduce the chance of sharing exhaled vapor. To be most effective each person should have their own MyBreathAway device.

MyBreathAway is not a mask. It is intended to compliment a shield, mask or bandana by capturing exhaled vapor then conveying it to the ground which is a safer location via a 2.5 or 3 inch flexible PVC tube.

A normal person takes 8 breathes per minute equivalent to about 4 liters per minute of air. MyBreathAway is designed to move 226 / 566 liters per minute of air continuously. Vapor or droplets near MyBreathAway's entrance will be drawn into the vacuum created by a fan and expelled at ground level or can be captured as part of a larger mitigation system.. The volume of air emitted by MyBreathAway is insufficient to create turbulent flow at ground level.
The importance of safely conveying lung vapor to the ground is it permits us to work in closer proximity to one another reassured that the ground will likely absorb problematic heavy vapor, or if captured; can be plumbed to a recirculating sub-micron HEPA filter or out of the building all together.

MyBreathAway is a solution to an HVAC problem that’s requires smaller parts and non-conventional thinking. Standard HVAC heats and cools a room, nothing more. MyBreathAway is designed to move air from each desk or workstation continuously and to convey captured air using PVC pipe (not included) to a safer location or a HEPA air purifier. MyBreathAway is intended to help education, government and workplaces become safer by permitting the air we breathe to be captured and processed in any manner the designer chooses.
MyBreathAway is designed for use with standard inexpensive Schedule 40 PVC pipe and fittings that are readily available at any hardware store. Anyone who has a saw, can cut the pipe to a desired length and install a system designed specifically for their workplace, school or office. We do not recommend the use of glue anywhere in the system since all parts are designed to be reconfigured as classroom or office layout is changed. Thus the system is NOT sealed. This is inconsequential since it is a system in vacuum. We suggest simple tape be used to retain parts together. Tape is CHEAP and makes disassembly very easy.
MyBreathAway is sold in different sizes meant to be used a suction fans for each branch. An inexpensive example using common classroom materials might be a class configured as a 4 rows of 4 seats spaced 5 feet apart configuration. Each MBA can be powered by daisy-chained 5’ USB extension cables (see note below). Classroom construction paper can be formed to channel air to the PVC so to isolate each desk top. Tape can be used to secure the short section of pipe to the desk to keep it upright.
NOTE: Every USB powered MBA has a USB in and out power plug for extension cable use. Any Air Purifier can be plugged into the wall. Pictured is the Honeywell HPA-300 which captures particles to 0.3 microns.
